Did anyone attend the MC2 Parent Meeting held last night at the MCHS cafeteria? I would like to know what was discussed.

Yes, I did attend. They started with introductions of the teachers who will be involved in the program. They explained some about how the day would be structured. Next, they broke into two groups: one for 9/10th grades; the other for the 7/8th grades. They provided schedule of the day, etc. Then some general questions and answers were addressed.

I would have attended but was told it was only for parents of 8-10 grade students. Could you provide some details as to the teachers and the schedule?

I am a parent of a 7th grader and went anyways. The room was split about 50/50 with 7th/8th and 9th/10th parents and students. The schedule is set up into 4 90-minute blocks each day. If your child is in 7th or 8th grades, he/she will start the day at McNabb and then come to MCHS at 10:30am everyday. The first two periods at McNabb will cover Social Studies and some co-curricular activity such as music, band, chorus, PE, art, etc. If you're child is involved in Band and Chorus, he/she will need to choose only one to participate in all year. At 10:30am the middle students will go to McNabb for the rest of the day. At the end of the day, they will be walked back over to McNabb to catch bus. The 7th grade schedule is:
Block 1: Social Studies and Co-Curricular at McNabb; Block 2 is English and Language Arts; Block 3 will include Science and Engineer; Block 4 will be Algebra I.
Hope this helps. As far as teachers, I don't recall all of them. A Maples guy is teaching math; Ashley something is teaching English Language Arts; they lost the Science teacher, Terri Rhodes, as she resigned earlier that day to take a job in Frankfort.
